Let's be honest, the last couple years have been ROUGH. Between having to stay in our houses, lack of usual activities and just the gloom that has been constantly thrown in our faces, we could all use a pick-me-up. As women, we tend to take care of everyone else before ourselves, and I am here to tell you that enough is enough. It is not healthy to try to pour from an empty cup! So here are 5 things to start doing every single day to start investing in yourself. Because while we should absolutely spend our hard earned money on ourselves as well, time for ourselves can be the biggest investment.
1. Wake up at a set time.
I am personally not a morning person. It
is actually really hard for to wake up to my alarm the first time around. But once you break the habit of that, it gets easier (or so they say, I am still working on it myself). What I do know for sure is that the days I do wake up to my alarm and get myself on a schedule, I feel much better.
2. Wake up with gratitude.
Right after you wake up, write down or type in your notes app 3 things you are grateful for. Let's be honest with ourselves, we usually sit in bed for a few minutes and scroll mindlessly on the internet while we are waking up. Since your alarm is probably on your phone, when you turn it off just make a habit of opening your notes app and writing 3 things you are grateful for and then say them out loud. “God and Universe, I am thankful today for waking up. Thank you for my beautiful healthy family, and thank you for all of our blessings.”
3. STRETCH! MOVE!
Seriously, I don’t care if it is for 5 minutes, get our of bed and stretch a little. When the weather is nicer, go outside and walk around for 5 minutes. Our bodies are meant to move a lot more than what our normal daily lives have us do.
4. Coffee alone is not breakfast.
This is more of a reminder for myself, but seriously, starting our your morning with a healthy breakfast. Even something like oatmeal or a piece of toast. If you wanna get real crazy, avocado toast with an egg on top is *chefs kiss!* That is, if this ban on Mexican avocados ever ends! For an added bonus, take some damn vitamins.
5. Meditiate & Journal
I think taking 5-10 minutes in the day to meditate and then journal can do a lot for our mental health. And if you are gonna tell me that you don’t have that time in your day, please take a look at your phone and average usage on it and I bet I can change your mind.
BONUS! Book the session already!
Booking a boudoir session is 100% an investment in yourself. I know this because not only have I gotten them done myself and left with a new sense of “i’m a bad ass,” but every single one of my clients that have walked out of their sessions have told me the same thing. I have watched these sessions literally transform women. Don’t believe me? Go check out some of my google reviews or the reviews women leave on my women’s VIP Facebook page.
If we, as women, continue to put our needs and wants last, we are teaching the net generations that that is what they should do as well. And I don’t know about you, but I sure in the hell don’t want my daughter putting ANYONE, other than God, before herself. Keep being bad asses ladies. Until next time!
